Janne Groen (1996) is een veelzijdige dansmaker en performer die persoonlijke verhalen vertaalt naar interdisciplinair werk. Ze studeerde af aan de opleiding Artiest Dans Urban (Rijn IJssel) in Arnhem (2018) en de opleiding Docent Dans (AHK) in Amsterdam (2022). Haar bewegingstaal heeft invloeden uit contemporary, improvisatie, hiphop, popping en house. Vanuit een voortdurende zoektocht naar identiteit, verbinding en betekenis onderzoekt ze hoe innerlijke ervaringen een fysieke en artistieke vorm kunnen krijgen, verweven met spoken word en muziek. Ze creëert voorstellingen waarin persoonlijke vragen resoneren in een bredere maatschappelijke context.
Sinds 2022 doet Janne actief onderzoek naar haar Indische roots. Oost, west, thuis weg… is de eerste voorstelling die daaruit voortkwam en werd gepresenteerd tijdens het Nieuwe Makers Festival RRReuring 2025 in Podium Mozaïek (Amsterdam). Biography
*Janne Groen (1996) is a versatile dance-maker and performer who translates personal stories into interdisciplinary work. She graduated from the Artist Urban Dance programme at Rijn IJssel (Arnhem) in 2018, followed by the Bachelor Dance in Education at the Academy for Theatre and Dance (Amsterdam) in 2022. Her movement language draws from contemporary dance, improvisation, hip-hop, popping, and house. Driven by an ongoing search for identity, connection, and meaning, she explores how inner experiences and emotions can take physical and artistic form, weaving dance together with spoken word and music. She creates performances in which personal questions resonate within a broader social context, inviting audiences to feel and reflect.
Since 2022, she has been actively researching her Dutch-Indonesian roots. Oost, west, thuis weg… is the first performance to emerge from this research and was presented at the Nieuwe Makers Festival RRReuring 2025 at Podium Mozaïek (Amsterdam). In addition to her work as a maker, Janne is active as a dancer, teacher, and facilitator within community dance projects for o.a. Stichting ReDiscoverMe and Stichting De Vrolijkheid, in collaboration with the Nederlands Dans Theater.

Alles lijkt vertrouwd, en toch voelt het anders. Het lichaam is teruggekeerd naar huis, maar de geest is nog achtergebleven. Een geluid, te hard, te dichtbij. Een toevallige beweging. Het gezicht van een vreemde. Alledaagse momenten vertonen scheuren, de tijd raakt ontregeld.
Pulling the Trigger is een solovoorstelling op het snijvlak van dans en fysiek theater, gecreëerd door Daria Titova en uitgevoerd door Marko Šakić. De voorstelling volgt een soldaat die wordt geconfronteerd met zijn eigen verleden, niet in staat het volledig onder ogen te zien of eraan te ontsnappen. Via beweging, tekst en stem ontvouwt het werk zich als een ontmoeting tussen herinnering, verantwoordelijkheid en het gewicht van keuzes die niet kunnen worden teruggedraaid.
Bewegend tussen controle en instorting, breuk en verzachting, stilstand en explosie, onderzoekt pulling the trigger wat het werkelijk betekent om de trekker over te halen, zowel letterlijk als figuurlijk, en of we ooit de keuzes van hen die dat doen werkelijk kunnen begrijpen.

Daria Titova (1999) is een freelance danskunstenaar gebaseerd in Amsterdam. Oorspronkelijk afkomstig uit Rusland, studeerde ze in 2022 af met een Bachelor Dans aan ArtEZ University of the Arts. Haar praktijk verbindt dans, fysiek theater, stem en tekst, waarbij ze het lichaam als vertrekpunt gebruikt om menselijke verhalen te vertellen. Ze is geïnteresseerd in hoe ervaringen, herinneringen en vragen over verbondenheid ons vormen, en hoe voorstellingen een manier kunnen worden om de complexiteit, kwetsbaarheid en tegenstrijdigheden van het mens-zijn te onderzoeken.
Als performer werkt Titova samen met verschillende choreografen en gezelschappen, waaronder Action Zoo Humaine, Cecilia Moisio Company, BonteHond en Maas Theater en Dans. Wat gebeurt er met ons lichaam wanneer warmte blijft hangen en verkoeling uitblijft? We bewegen trager, raken sneller geïrriteerd en functioneren toch alsof alles normaal is. Hittestress is geen zichtbaar probleem, maar een stille moordenaar die langzaam onze lichamen ontregelt.
De stille moordenaar is een dansvoorstelling die deze onzichtbare dreiging voelbaar maakt en onderzoekt hoe hitte ons gedrag, onze concentratie en sociale dynamiek beïnvloedt. Wanneer de temperatuur stijgt, verandert het lichaam, maar blijven de verwachtingen hetzelfde. In andere culturen stemmen mensen hun gedrag instinctief af op hitte. In Nederland ontbreekt deze vanzelfsprekendheid, waardoor hittestress onderschat wordt en steeds zichtbaarder wordt.
In de choreografie wordt zichtbaar hoe fysieke uitputting, mentale overbelasting en irritaties elkaar versterken. Bewegingen worden zwaarder, reacties scherper en balans verdwijnt. De voorstelling confronteert de dodelijke kant van zon en hitte. Wat stil en onzichtbaar was, wordt zichtbaar en tastbaar.

Geboren in Syrië en in 2016 naar Nederland gekomen, groeide ze op in een familie waar dans en muziek dagelijks werden gevierd. In 2025 studeerde ze af aan Watermanagement aan de Hogeschool Rotterdam, met een afstudeeronderzoek naar hittestress in de stedelijke omgeving. Met De stille moordenaar verbindt ze klimaatvraagstukken aan lichamelijke beleving, waarbij onderzoek, persoonlijke geschiedenis en fysieke intensiteit samenkomen.
Aviva Thijssen is danser, docent en maker, afgestudeerd aan de bachelor Docent Dans aan Codarts en momenteel masterstudent dramaturgie aan de Universiteit Utrecht.

In a changing climate, heat increasingly shapes daily life, yet heat stress often remains invisible. De stille Moordenaar (The Silent Killer) makes this hidden impact tangible through the body.
When warmth lingers and cooling is absent, the body slows down. Concentration decreases, fatigue increases, and small irritations intensify. At the same time, expectations from work, study, and society remain unchanged, creating tension between physical limits and social pressure.
The choreography explores how exhaustion, mental overload, and social interaction reinforce each other. Through repetition, physical intensity, and disruption, movements become heavier and reactions sharper. The performance approaches cooling not only as an individual necessity but as a shared responsibility. What is often invisible gains a body, a rhythm, and a direct physical presence on stage.
Biographies
Lilian Kafa (2001) is an autodidactic choreographer and dancer whose work combines modern dance, hip-hop, waacking, and Arabic folk dance. Born in Syria and living in the Netherlands since 2016, her background strongly informs her artistic practice. In 2025, she graduated in Water Management at Hogeschool Rotterdam, with a research focus on heat stress and cool spaces in urban environments. With De Stille Moordenaar, she connects climate issues to the human body, translating scientific knowledge into embodied experience.
Aviva Thijssen is a dancer, teacher, and maker, graduated from the Bachelor of Dance Education at Codarts and currently studying for a Master's in Dramaturgy at Utrecht University.
Yadhira De León Matos is a performer and choreographer from the Dominican Republic, based in The Hague and Amsterdam, currently studying Choreography at the Amsterdam University of the Arts.
Lily Kooter is a dancer, maker, and dance teacher, and a fourth-year student in the Bachelor of Dance Education at the Amsterdam University of the Arts.

Biographies
Lilian Kafa (2001) is an autodidactic choreographer and dancer whose work combines modern dance, hip-hop, waacking, and Arabic folk dance. Born in Syria and living in the Netherlands since 2016, her background strongly informs her artistic practice. In 2025, she graduated in Water Management at Hogeschool Rotterdam, with a research focus on heat stress and cool spaces in urban environments. With De Stille Moordenaar, she connects climate issues to the human body, translating scientific knowledge into embodied experience.
Aviva Thijssen is a dancer, teacher, and maker, graduated from the Bachelor of Dance Education at Codarts and currently studying for a Master's in Dramaturgy at Utrecht University.
Yadhira De León Matos is a performer and choreographer from the Dominican Republic, based in The Hague and Amsterdam, currently studying Choreography at the Amsterdam University of the Arts.
Lily Kooter is a dancer, maker, and dance teacher, and a fourth-year student in the Bachelor of Dance Education at the Amsterdam University of the Arts.

Ze reist naar de andere kant van de wereld met de hoop een innerlijke leegte te vullen. Kan Janne haar verlangen vervullen om te verbinden met haar vaders geboortegrond? Ze studeerde af aan de opleiding Artiest Dans Urban (Rijn IJssel) in Arnhem (2018) en de opleiding Docent Dans (AHK) in Amsterdam (2022). Haar bewegingstaal heeft invloeden uit contemporary, improvisatie, hiphop, popping en house. Vanuit een voortdurende zoektocht naar identiteit, verbinding en betekenis onderzoekt ze hoe innerlijke ervaringen een fysieke en artistieke vorm kunnen krijgen, verweven met spoken word en muziek. Van luchtige rookbewegingen tot hoekige coke-manie, van mechanische NPC-gestures tot ontspoorde OCD-patronen: Junkyard toont hoe het voelt om te ontsnappen aan een leven dat zich afspeelt van kick naar kick. From airy smoking gestures to angular coke mania, from mechanical NPC movements to derailed OCD patterns: Junkyard shows what it feels like to escape a life lived from kick to kick. Wat als je gewoon wilt bestaan, maar plotseling wordt omgedraaid? Je wacht op de bus en maakt je geen zorgen over de vertraging. Maar de wereld versnelt om je heen en niemand laat het toe om stil te staan. Het voortdurende schommelen, vliegen en gooien creëert een surrealistisch maar vertrouwd universum.
Rogers, just Just Rogers is een stuk over een stil bestaan in een snelle wereld. Just Rogers heeft weinig ambities. De buitenwereld kan hem in onverwachte richtingen duwen of trekken, maar Rogers blijft op zijn plaats zonder zich zorgen te maken over gemiste kansen. Is dit berusting in de eisen van de kapitalistische samenleving, of een kleine rebellie ertegen?
Het stuk combineert hedendaagse dans en circus, met een focus op partnerwerk en acrobatische elementen die spelen met risico en vertrouwen.

The Falling Club is een nieuwgevormd collectief van internationale danskunstenaars die het stilzwijgend betekenisvolle willen laten zien. Door kennis uit dans, circus en performancekunst te combineren, creëren ze voorstellingen op de grens tussen onzekerheid en vertrouwen, verveling en opwinding, zweven en vallen. Het collectief bestaat uit Sini Ahonen, Lunis Katholnigg, Gregor Kenneweg en Meike Münch, afkomstig uit Duitsland en Finland en momenteel woonachtig in Nederland, waar ze hun opleiding aan ArtEZ Dance Artist afronden.

*What if you just want to exist but suddenly get flipped? Oh well. You wait for the bus, not minding the delay. But the world speeds up around you and no one is allowed to stand still. The constant swinging, flying, and throwing creates a surreal yet familiar universe.
Rogers, just Just Rogers is a piece about a quiet existence in a fast-paced world. Just Rogers is a person with little ambition. Although the outside world may push or pull them in unexpected directions, Rogers remains in place with no concern about missed opportunities for greatness. Is this a resignation to the demands of capitalist society, or a tiny rebellion against it?
The piece combines contemporary dance and circus, with a focus on partner work and acrobatic elements that play with risk-taking and trust.

The Falling Club is a newly formed collective of international dance artists who want to highlight the quietly meaningful. Combining knowledge from dance, circus, and performance art, they create performances that play on the line between uncertainty and trust, boredom and excitement, floating and falling. Alles lijkt vertrouwd, en toch voelt het anders. Het lichaam is teruggekeerd naar huis, maar de geest is nog achtergebleven. Een geluid, te hard, te dichtbij. Een toevallige beweging. Het gezicht van een vreemde. Alledaagse momenten vertonen scheuren, de tijd raakt ontregeld.
Pulling the Trigger is een solovoorstelling op het snijvlak van dans en fysiek theater, gecreëerd door Daria Titova en uitgevoerd door Marko Šakić. De voorstelling volgt een soldaat die wordt geconfronteerd met zijn eigen verleden, niet in staat het volledig onder ogen te zien of eraan te ontsnappen. Via beweging, tekst en stem ontvouwt het werk zich als een ontmoeting tussen herinnering, verantwoordelijkheid en het gewicht van keuzes die niet kunnen worden teruggedraaid.
Bewegend tussen controle en instorting, breuk en verzachting, stilstand en explosie, onderzoekt pulling the trigger wat het werkelijk betekent om de trekker over te halen, zowel letterlijk als figuurlijk, en of we ooit de keuzes van hen die dat doen werkelijk kunnen begrijpen.
Biografie
Daria Titova (1999) is een freelance danskunstenaar gebaseerd in Amsterdam. Oorspronkelijk afkomstig uit Rusland, studeerde ze in 2022 af met een Bachelor Dans aan ArtEZ University of the Arts. Haar praktijk verbindt dans, fysiek theater, stem en tekst, waarbij ze het lichaam als vertrekpunt gebruikt om menselijke verhalen te vertellen. Ze is geïnteresseerd in hoe ervaringen, herinneringen en vragen over verbondenheid ons vormen, en hoe voorstellingen een manier kunnen worden om de complexiteit, kwetsbaarheid en tegenstrijdigheden van het mens-zijn te onderzoeken.
Als performer werkt Titova samen met verschillende choreografen en gezelschappen, waaronder Action Zoo Humaine, Cecilia Moisio Company, BonteHond en Maas Theater en Dans. Naast haar werk op het podium produceerde en choreografeerde ze de korte dansfilm Through the Roots (2024), een dieppersoonlijk project geïnspireerd door wortels, identiteit, herinnering en de band met het land. Gefilmd in Sokur, Rusland, is het stuk een ode aan haar grootvader en werd het geselecteerd voor Cinedans 2025 en andere internationale filmfestivals.

Daria Titova (1999) is a freelance dance artist based in Amsterdam. Originally from Russia, she graduated with a Bachelor of Dance from ArtEZ University of the Arts in 2022. Her practice blends dance, physical theatre, voice, and text, using the body as a starting point to tell human stories. She is interested in how experiences, memories, and questions of belonging shape us, and in how performance can become a way of engaging with the complexity, vulnerability, and contradictions of being human.
As a performer, Daria collaborates with various choreographers and companies, including Action Zoo Humaine, Cecilia Moisio Company, BonteHond and Maas Theater en Dans. In addition to her work on stage, she produced and choreographed the short dance film Through the Roots (2024), a deeply personal project inspired by roots, identity, memory, and relationship with the land. Filmed in Sokur, Russia, the piece serves as an ode to her grandfather and was selected for Cinedans 2025 and other international film festivals.*
Wat als je gewoon wilt bestaan, maar plotseling wordt omgedraaid? Je wacht op de bus en maakt je geen zorgen over de vertraging. Maar de wereld versnelt om je heen en niemand laat het toe om stil te staan. Het voortdurende schommelen, vliegen en gooien creëert een surrealistisch maar vertrouwd universum.
Rogers, just Just Rogers is een stuk over een stil bestaan in een snelle wereld. Just Rogers heeft weinig ambities. De buitenwereld kan hem in onverwachte richtingen duwen of trekken, maar Rogers blijft op zijn plaats zonder zich zorgen te maken over gemiste kansen. Is dit berusting in de eisen van de kapitalistische samenleving, of een kleine rebellie ertegen?
Het stuk combineert hedendaagse dans en circus, met een focus op partnerwerk en acrobatische elementen die spelen met risico en vertrouwen.
Biografie
The Falling Club is een nieuwgevormd collectief van internationale danskunstenaars die het stilzwijgend betekenisvolle willen laten zien. Door kennis uit dans, circus en performancekunst te combineren, creëren ze voorstellingen op de grens tussen onzekerheid en vertrouwen, verveling en opwinding, zweven en vallen. Het collectief bestaat uit Sini Ahonen, Lunis Katholnigg, Gregor Kenneweg en Meike Münch, afkomstig uit Duitsland en Finland en momenteel woonachtig in Nederland, waar ze hun opleiding aan ArtEZ Dance Artist afronden.

*What if you just want to exist but suddenly get flipped? Oh well. You wait for the bus, not minding the delay. But the world speeds up around you and no one is allowed to stand still. The constant swinging, flying, and throwing creates a surreal yet familiar universe.
Rogers, just Just Rogers is a piece about a quiet existence in a fast-paced world. Just Rogers is a person with little ambition. Although the outside world may push or pull them in unexpected directions, Rogers remains in place with no concern about missed opportunities for greatness. Is this a resignation to the demands of capitalist society, or a tiny rebellion against it?
The piece combines contemporary dance and circus, with a focus on partner work and acrobatic elements that play with risk-taking and trust.
Biography
The Falling Club is a newly formed collective of international dance artists who want to highlight the quietly meaningful. Combining knowledge from dance, circus, and performance art, they create performances that play on the line between uncertainty and trust, boredom and excitement, floating and falling. The collective consists of Sini Ahonen, Lunis Katholnigg, Gregor Kenneweg, and Meike Münch, originally from Germany and Finland and currently based in the Netherlands, where they are finishing their studies at ArtEZ Dance Artist programme.

Wat betekent het om Indisch te zijn? In Oost, west, thuis weg… neemt Janne Groen je mee in haar zoektocht naar (h)erkenning van haar Indische identiteit. Ze reist naar de andere kant van de wereld met de hoop een innerlijke leegte te vullen. Kan Janne haar verlangen vervullen om te verbinden met haar vaders geboortegrond? En voldoet de werkelijkheid aan haar verwachtingen? In de vertolking van dit proces laat Janne dans, spoken word en live muziek versmelten. In samenspel met gitarist Seyoum Yuno en saxofonist Wytze Minne de Swart deelt ze open en eerlijk haar verhaal, met alle emoties van dien. Een voorstelling over verlangen, verlies en veerkracht. Omdat het gedeeld moet worden.

Janne Groen (1996) is een veelzijdige dansmaker en performer die persoonlijke verhalen vertaalt naar interdisciplinair werk. Ze studeerde af aan de opleiding Artiest Dans Urban (Rijn IJssel) in Arnhem (2018) en de opleiding Docent Dans (AHK) in Amsterdam (2022). Haar bewegingstaal heeft invloeden uit contemporary, improvisatie, hiphop, popping en house. Vanuit een voortdurende zoektocht naar identiteit, verbinding en betekenis onderzoekt ze hoe innerlijke ervaringen een fysieke en artistieke vorm kunnen krijgen, verweven met spoken word en muziek. Ze creëert voorstellingen waarin persoonlijke vragen resoneren in een bredere maatschappelijke context.
Sinds 2022 doet Janne actief onderzoek naar haar Indische roots. Oost, west, thuis weg… is de eerste voorstelling die daaruit voortkwam en werd gepresenteerd tijdens het Nieuwe Makers Festival RRReuring 2025 in Podium Mozaïek (Amsterdam). Naast haar werk als maker is ze actief als danser, docent en begeleider binnen sociaal-maatschappelijke dansprojecten van o.a. Stichting ReDiscoverMe en Stichting De Vrolijkheid, i.s.m. het Nederlands Dans Theater.

What does it mean to be Indisch? Janne Groen takes you on her search for recognition and reconnection with her Dutch-Indonesian identity in the performance Oost, west, thuis weg… (East, West, Home Loss…). She travels to the other side of the world hoping to fill an inner void. Can she fulfil her longing to reconnect with her father's homeland? And will reality meet her expectations? In bringing this process to life, Janne weaves together dance, spoken word, and live music. Alongside guitarist Seyoum Yuno and saxophonist Wytze Minne de Swart, she shares her story openly and honestly, with all the emotions that come with it.A performance about longing, loss, and resilience. Biography
*Janne Groen (1996) is a versatile dance-maker and performer who translates personal stories into interdisciplinary work. She graduated from the Artist Urban Dance programme at Rijn IJssel (Arnhem) in 2018, followed by the Bachelor Dance in Education at the Academy for Theatre and Dance (Amsterdam) in 2022. Her movement language draws from contemporary dance, improvisation, hip-hop, popping, and house. Driven by an ongoing search for identity, connection, and meaning, she explores how inner experiences and emotions can take physical and artistic form, weaving dance together with spoken word and music. She creates performances in which personal questions resonate within a broader social context, inviting audiences to feel and reflect.
Since 2022, she has been actively researching her Dutch-Indonesian roots. Oost, west, thuis weg… is the first performance to emerge from this research and was presented at the Nieuwe Makers Festival RRReuring 2025 at Podium Mozaïek (Amsterdam).
